Report Name: Activity by Referring Site

Report Description:

This report lists websites that referred visitors to your site with the number of visits, transactions and revenue per referring site. According to the screenshot, ‘cirrus.sprl.umich.edu’ is the most efficient referrer that brought 820 visits, 43 orders and $608.02 in revenue within a selected time period.

The report shows what websites bring the majority of your visitors and how they contribute to your revenue. You can change the report modifier to get the conversion rates and/or drill down to see a trend. Analysis of such information can help you define not only the level of traffic each referring site brings, but which ones supply you with the targeted visitors.

Available Report Periods:

Day, week, month, year

Available Report Modifiers:

Switch from Amount to Conversion to get the ratios. All transaction numbers are divided by the visits sum total, so here you find the transaction to visits ratios.

Available Charts:

‘Activity by Referring Site’: Pie and bar chart for the period summary. ‘Activity by Referring Site’: Trend chart and pie and bar chart for the period summary.

Drill-down Report Description:

The drill-down report gives the number of visits (or any of the transactions you set up) by a shorter period of time (per day for a monthly report on the above screenshot). The current number of visits is compared to the average and maximum amounts.

Available Drill-down Report Values:

Visits, any transactions that you set up, and revenue from them, if applicable. To change the report from visits trends to a transaction or revenue trends, select a transaction name from the drop-down menu.
